A peace that passes all understanding...

Hi everyone, this is Jenna. I just wanted to update on Janet.

We've had a very sweet week with her. A lot of our family got to come in to town to see her and spend a few days with us. She felt good enough to be up part of the time and do a lot of things for us to leave memories for us and the kids, like recording books for them and leaving family recipes for Jordan and I. We are so grateful to have had this time because we realize so many aren't able to do those things before losing their loved ones.

She was admitted to the Circle of Life hospice home today to try and get her nausea and pain under control. She has had a very rough time with it and we are so glad for her to finally get some rest and relief.

Our family appreciates the prayers, food, cards and thoughts that y'all have sent our way. We are so appreciative of the Facebook messages and posts too and while Janet has been unable to keep up with them, the rest of us are doing our best to read them.  I will try to update with changes as best as I can. We are asking for no visitors.

I also just wrote a post on my blog about how our family is coping if you're interested: Here

  1. Thank you so much for the update. I started following Janet not too long ago from Kelly's Korner and she's been on my mind ever since. I am thinking of your family during this time. Stay strong. God Bless you all.

  8. I read this in my daily word and thought of Janet:
    Timothy 2 chapter 4

6 For I am already being poured out like a drink offering, and the time for my departure is near. 7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 8 Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.

Praying for mercy and strength during this time.

  9. Janet,
I pray that the medical team will keep you comfortable (best possible) and be able to manage your pain! My Mom died in 2005 from pancreatic cancer. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family and my girls (Candace (Bell) Watson and Kimberly Bell) have been praying and thinking of you also. thank you for all you did with the youth group when my girls were at 412! When my Mom left us I knew God picked her as a flower for his bouquet ! Although we will never know why some are taken so early but He knows our future and what is best for us even though we are selfish and want to keep our loved ones, she is now rejoicing and singing face to face with Jesus.

  10. Janet, I was listening to O Come All ye Faithful and you came to mind. It seems as God is calling you his faithful daughter. You have been joyful through this journey and now you will live triumphantly with him. All blessings for peace to you & your family.

  11. Dear sister in Christ,
Though we have never met in person, we have an eternal connection....I found your blog through kellys korner blog, which I have read for some time.....I was first diagnosed with ovarian cancer at age 33, and again about a month after you were last year !!! What an awesome testimony you have, and are continuing to have !!! I am thankful that our paths have "crossed", and look forward to seeing you at the feet of our Jesus.....Praying for your family too....( Florida girl )
